Whether it be a twilight tour on one of the selected pistes that are open for ski tourers in the evening, or a guided ski tour, or one of your own, ski tours away from all the people on the pistes are always a fantastic experience. The Touring Base in the LIVINGROOM Hochkönig has plenty of helpful tips for beginners.
Ice skating out in the open air is just as much a part of winter as snow itself. If you feel like heading out onto the ice for some fun, there is a small, lit ice rink just 5 min walk from the Alpenblick. Or, head out to the Ritzensee in Saalfelden to enjoy skating on the lake. The local sports shops have ice skates available for hire.
Tobogganing fun day and night
Tobogganing is always a great idea, either as an alternative to the pistes, or as a fun way to round off the day. There is a lit, prepared natural toboggan run that runs from the mountain restaurant Jufen down into the valley, and the tobogganing itself is sure not to be the end of the fun.
