Relaxation and adventure at the lake
A visit to Zell am See is all about relaxation and adventure. This wonderfully situated mountain town, with its central Zell Lake has been a competition venue for the triathlon world elite for years, and is certainly worth a visit.
Enjoy a day at the lake
Rent a boat, or take a boat trip. Stand up paddling, kayak, windsurfing, or simply sunbathing and swimming in the crystal clear water. Whatever you decide on, the amazing mountain backdrop is always part of it.
Schmittenhöhe Adventure Mountain
The Porsche designed gondola lift takes you up to wonderful views from one of the highest hiking mountains in our region, the 2000 m Schmittenhöhe. The Empress Sissi used to enjoy going for walks on this local mountain to Zell. In those days of course, there was no family adventure trail, frisbee golf course, or so many paragliders to marvel at.
The mountain town of Zell am See
The administrative district centre of Pinzgau is worth a visit in summer or in winter, whether for a leisurely walk along the lakeside promenade, a visit to the indoor pool, the Zell am See ice rink, or to enjoy the Wednesday Festival nights in summer. One relatively new and unusual highlight is a visit to the newly opened casino in the Grand Hotel.
